Lovely Picture Book Tribute to the “Madeline” Books: Miss Lina’s Ballerinas

Pay Homage to Ludwig Bemelman’s Madeline Books
Even casual acquaintances of the beloved Madeline series may remember well the famous opening rhyme:
In an old house in Paris that was
covered in vines
Lived twelve little girls in two
straight lines.
Author Grace Maccarone has lovingly transformed the Madeline lines into a delightful dance version, complete with formation changes. This first book, Miss Lina’s Ballerinas, follows a group of 8 girls who learn to deal with change, and accepting new formations, when a new girl arrives to the dance school.
The pictures are darling. I hope you enjoy Miss Lina as much as I did! If you get hooked, there is also a third book that I have not read yet: Miss Lina’s Ballerinas and the Wicked Wish.
